12″, 40oz boosted AlNiCo magnet, 60 watt, 2″ voice coil, ribbed cone. Loud, warm, crunch and punch, later breakup, compressed and fattened at higher volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

Just arrived couple days ago. Replaced an original JBL D 120F, what a difference! Gone is the ice pick in the ear. Warm, full bodied and handles overdrive well

I’ve got a Blackface Super Reverb circuit shoved into a compact 1×12 combo. My overdrive sound comes from a mix of pedals and power tube (2 x 6L6) saturation. I’d been using a Weber Ceramic California for years, and I like the speaker, but as advertised, it can be a bit "revealing" of certain transients in fuzzes and spitting tubes. I recently swapped in an AlNiCo Chicago and those issues are gone. My cleans still sound great, and my fuzzes and overdrives suddenly have a throaty warmth to them that caused everyone in the band to spontaneously take note. Now I’ve got the California in an extension cab for clean-only use as needed. Rad sounds abound. I usually use a power attenuator, so I won’t benefit from the AlNiCo compression all the time at lower levels, but in a soundproof studio and on bigger stages, I can’t wait to crank this thing. Thanks, Weber!
