Weber’s DT-15 speaker provides warm smooth tone with a big bottom end. The 20oz magnet helps keep the speaker somewhat inefficient, so you can drive your amp into overdrive more easily than with a more efficient speaker. Excellent replacement for any amp with a 15″ where you want to get some drive from those amps without a thin and harsh treble.

15″, 20oz Ceramic magnet, 50 watt, 1.5″ voice coil, ribbed cone, 3″ paper vented dustcap.

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

After discussing which direction to go in, C.J. helped me settle on this for my home built 40 watt Blackface Vibroverb. It’s totally the opposite direction from what this amp typically has – and that was the point! I didn’t need an efficient speaker with an aluminum dust cap to make this super loud and overly bright. The DT15 can still be bright and plenty loud when you want it to be, trust me. The most important thing is that it obtains a nice compressed sound at around 5-6. I took care of the overly bassy frequencies by reducing all the tone stack bypass caps to 4.7uF. The 25uF are just overkill in my opinion. I wired the channels in phase so I could jumper them together for more gain and that makes this speaker really sing. Oh, it’s a thing of beauty. 50 watts power handling is plenty for this 40 watt amp. What an amp I built, but it’s nothing without this amazing speaker. Can’t go wrong with this one.
