Replacement for gray frame Hiwatt Fanes and other big magnet 12″ british higher powered speakers. 12″, 60oz ceramic magnet, 80 watt, 2″ voice coil, ribbed cone. Loud, british bright and chimey, aggressive, punchy, more headroom than the AlNiCo version. It is a little darker and stiffer than most speakers when brand new, and requires more break-in time, so it can’t really be judged right out of the box. But once it breaks in, this is a great sounding speaker.

Custom colors available. If you choose the custom color option, please note what you want in the comments. Follow us on social media to see what we can do!

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

Fantastic speakers! Awesome with a Hiwatt style amplifier. They have that chime and bite that works so well with the headroom and EQ of the Hiwatt preamp. Have used them in a host of cabinets, 1×12, 2×12 and Rotary Cabinets. Using both 55 & 75 hz variants. They handle baritone guitars as well, powered by a selection of custom made Ivan Richards (Australia) amplifiers – with both Single Ended and Push/Pull power sections.

The Thames is a really great speaker once it breaks in. It sounds huge and has that defined and crunchy sound old Fane speakers were known for. It’s got better low end than a Celestion type speaker…… I’ve paired it with Hiwatt type amps with great results but it also work well with my other amps.
